A Beautiful Fiber

Bamboo is such a beautiful fiber. It always amazes me how it can have such an incredible shine. Although it doesn't have memory like wool , I've made some wonderful pieces with it. Mostly I like using it in scarves or small items like camera, i-pod or cell phone holders. In scarves I like to alternate it in between rows or hold another yarn along side it and knit with both yarns. I have made complete scarves using bamboo but I did use a smaller needle for a tighter stitch.

Here's a pink bamboo which will soon be available in the store. http://www.terrabellaspun.etsy.com/

Happy Birthday Boys!

Today Travis is 8yrs. and Figaro is 3yrs. They are the Best of friends, always by each others side. Travis takes the bed (Figaro's bed) and figgy doesn't really care just as long as he is in next to Travis... Too Cute!

So I already got some pots going...bamboo & merino and it's not even 8:30am. Oh yeah I do love an early start!

Ok so here is a photo of some that I dyed last night and they are almost dry & looking lovely...

I've got pots with purple, blue & pink bamboo brewing now along with a multi. Check out the blue...

Sneak Peek

This yarn should be available in the store tomorrow. It's USA Merino (not plied) approx 100yds. The colors are just wonderful.....

Off to a late start

So I'm off to a late start today. Lots of non-fibery things to do this morning. I just now started a couple of dye baths. The light minty green is USA Merino & the peach fiber is Faux Cashmere.

USA Merino....all washed

This merino is absolutely fabulous! Although a lot of work goes into preparing it, it's sooo worth it. I just love how it spins up.

What's going on today

I'm hoping to get to these sometime today. They're a wonderful blend of Faux Cashmere, Bamboo & Banana Silk.

Well, here in New England we have another Beautiful day. Perfect for hanging out yarns to dry.
